Abe
Rogers
Sep 26, 1932 — Dec 7, 2023
Charles Abe Rogers, 91, of Ashton, Idaho passed away December 7, 2023, of natural causes. He was born on September 26, 1932, at his home in Farnum, Idaho to David William Rogers and Rosebud Lillian Henry. He was the youngest of the five children and shared his birthday with his older twin brothers.
His childhood was spent on the family ranch raising livestock and farming. During the winters on the farm he would go to town once or twice with team and sleigh and this was always a treat. He attended school at the Farnum school house up to the 5th grade. From 6th grade on, he attended school in Ashton where he first noticed his sweetheart Naomi Biorn. They courted after she graduated high school and were married later that fall in October 1951. On April 26, 1953, he was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by his brother Willard Rogers. Fall of 1953, he left the farm to serve in the Army and was stationed in Germany for 13 months where he was a welder on the tanks.
Abe and Naomi's marriage was later solemnized the Idaho Falls temple on October 24, 1956. This union was blessed with 4 children, 2 sons and 2 daughters.
Abe and Naomi worked side by side on their ranch. He was a master builder, craftsman, and could repair almost anything. They had the opportunity to travel home and abroad, along with many camping and fishing trips. Abe always made time for family, whether it was going to Yellowstone for picnics or waterskiing after a days work in the fields. He enjoyed life and knew no strangers. He served faithfully in all his church callings, community, and was an example to all who knew him.
He is survived by oldest daughter Lillian (Casey) Stock of Kaysville, UT, sons, Kent (Pat) Rogers, Dennis (Colette) Rogers both of Ashton and youngest daughter Machelle (Mark) Bunch of Canon City, CO. 20 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Naomi Biorn Rogers, sisters Catherine Rogers Sargent, Ardella Rogers Fields, brothers William and Willard Rogers and granddaughter Chelsea Stock.
