Brent
Burrell
Sep 20, 1947 — Mar 23, 2018
Michael Brent Burrell, of Ashton, passed away at his home in the early morning of March 23, 2018 at the age of 70.
Brent Burrell was born in St. Anthony, Idaho September 20, 1947 to Harold and Shirley Burrell. Brent was the second of three children. He grew up in Marysville, Idaho and went to school in Ashton. He graduated from North Fremont High School in 1965. As a young boy, Brent developed a strong work ethic and at a young age would milk cows before and after school, move "pipe" and had various other jobs. This hard work ethic was shared with his children and grandchildren. Brent loved the outdoors and especially loved hunting and fishing with family and friends. He often talked about the good memories of growing up in Ashton. Brent never met a stranger and loved visiting with everyone in person or on the telephone.
Brent served in the Idaho National Guard and then worked for Boeing in Seattle but disliked the big city and returned to Ashton. Brent worked for the Ashton Co Op, the Union Pacific Railroad, the US Forest Service and finally retired from the Bureau of Land Management and made many friends along the way. Brent met the love of his life, Connie Tucker, "dragging Main" in Rexburg in February 1968, when she was attending beauty school. It was love at first sight and they dated continuously and were married in Teton City on May 2, 1969. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS temple.
Five children were born to this union and family was his joy in life. Brent and Connie raised their family in Ashton, Idaho. Brent loved to have family together for holidays and any occasion. He loved his grandchildren and was involved in their lives and loved attending birthday parties, plays, games, meets, concerts, birthdays and other events. Brent always had a quick wit, loved to joke and often would tease and loved to make others laugh – especially his grandkids.
Brent was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had many different callings over the years.
His is survived by his wife, Connie of Ashton, Idaho; four sons and one daughter; Darin (Natalie) Burrell of Rexburg, Idaho, Danny (Heather) Burrell of Rexburg, Idaho, Valori (John) Montgomery of Wichita, Kansas, Davey (Tara) Burrell of Pocatello, Idaho, Drew (Mandi) Burrell of Chubbock, Idaho as well as 11 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Craig (Rosie) Burrell of Salem, Oregon and sister Trina (Jesse) Shaw of Great Falls, Montana.
