Carol
Albertson
Dec 17, 1933 — Jan 3, 2019
Carol Pauline Miller Albertson, 85, of Lamont, died January 3, 2019, at Teton Valley Hospital of natural causes. She was born December 17, 1933, in France, Idaho to William and Josephine Schwartz Miller.
She attended grade school at France and Drummond. She then attended high school at North Fremont High School in Ashton. She graduated from high school in 1952. Her class was the first class to graduate from the new high school. After graduation she went to business college in Spokane, Washington.
Carol then returned to Ashton where she worked at the Idaho Bank of Commerce.
She married Joseph Spencer Albertson on October 20, 1954, at Mary Immaculate Church in St. Anthony. Three children, Tracy, Kathy, and William, were born to this union. Carol and Spence made their home in Lamont where they farmed and raised their family.
Spence died on November 17, 1980, so Carol took over running the farm. After Spence's death she took up riding horses and chasing cows on the range. She worked on the farm until 2014, when declining health led her to retire.
She was a member of Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, the Squirrel Meadows Cattle Association, and the Squirrel Community Club. She liked to fish and hunt in her younger years. As she grew older she enjoyed reading, playing pinochle and watching TV.
She is survived by her children, Tracy Albertson of Rexburg, Kathy Albertson of Ashton, and William Albertson of Ashton; three sisters-in-law, Sylvia Clark of Meridian, Wilma Miller of Ashton, and Judie Miller of Idaho Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at Baxter Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 11:30 until time of service, both times at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Pineview Cemetery.
