Chris
Huttinger
Dec 6, 1974 — Nov 2, 2021
Chris Huttinger, 46, of Rexburg, Idaho passed away November 2, 2021, due to complications from congestive heart failure.
Chris was born December 6, 1974, in Miles City, Montana to Brian Huttinger and LoAnne (Thompson) Huttinger. Chris and his family moved from Miles City to West Yellowstone, Montana in 1975, and to Gillette, Wyoming later that year. After Brian passed away, Chris and LoAnne moved to Bozeman, Montana, and then to Island Park Idaho in 1984 to help with the family business, The A-Bar, Motel, & Supper Club, and to be closer to their family. Chris loved living in Island Park. Snowmobiling became a major passion of his, and you could find him out cruising along the trails on any given winter day. Chris found his love for football while in high school and played every year while he was there. He graduated from North Fremont High School in 1993.
After high school, Chris began working with his stepfather Kenny as a carpenter, and he found another joy in his life. In 1996, Chris moved to Pahrump, Nevada to work for his Uncle Harlee. While in Nevada, he met Summer Millar. Chris and Summer had a son together in 1998, who they named Brian, after Chris' father. They later separated.
In 2001, Chris and Brian moved home to Island Park, where Chris met Vicki Thompson. Chris and Vicki were married in 2002. They had two sons together; Mark in 2002, and Connor in 2005. While living in Island Park, Chris was also very involved in the Island Park Fire Department. He had the honor of earning the Firefighter of the Year Award in 2006. When Chris' family sold the A-Bar in 2008, Chris and Vicki bought a house and moved to Ashton, Idaho. They raised their boys in Ashton, and Chris became very active in the boys' various activities. When Brian began playing football in 2009, Chris discovered a deep enjoyment of coaching. Throughout all three boys' time in football, Chris either coached or helped coach their youth teams, and he loved to watch them on the field.
Chris and Vicki divorced in 2019, and he sold the house. He later moved to Rexburg in 2021. He continued to work as a carpenter, and he enjoyed working for his cousin Nathanael at Sandman Construction, and he was 100% devoted to his boys until his passing.
