Cleve Lavar Richards, 76, of Parker, died September 2, 2018, at Homestead Senior Living in Rexburg of natural causes. He was born September 10, 1941, in Twin Groves, Idaho to Ralph and Myrtle Jeffs Richards. He attended schools in St. Anthony and graduated from South Fremont High School in 1960.
He married Renee Orr on May 12, 1961, in St. Anthony, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Six children were born to this marriage, Lisa, Kip, Dirk, Troy, Corey and Tanya. Cleve and Renee lived and raised their family in Parker, Idaho. Renee was killed in a car accident in January 1998. Cleve married Vikki Tanner on August 14, 1998. They enjoyed twenty years together. They lived in Parker until his death.
Cleve was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in various callings.
He owned CR Welding Supplies for many years. He then sold the business to US Welding and worked for them for a period of time. He then worked as a salesman until his retirement.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, riding 4-wheelers and snowmobiles, and being in the outdoors. He was a jokester and had a great sense of humor. He was well loved and had many friends. He loved to spend time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Vikki Richards; children, Lisa Richards, Kip (Lisa) Richards, Dirk (Dena) Richards, Troy (Nikki) Richards, Corey (Brooke) Richards, Tanya (Matt) Gardiner; step-children, Brett (Brenda) Welker, Desiree (Dana) Wade, James (Sarah) Welker, Travis Welker, Natasha Tanner; brothers, Bill (Melvena) Richards, Randall (Meg) Richards; 42 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren;
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Renee; siblings, Darrell, Marva, Vila, Veda, Val; a daughter-in-law, Brenda; and a granddaughter, Amy.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 7, at the Parker LDS Chapel, 132 North Center Street, Parker, Idaho 83438, with Bishop Jace Yancey officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., and Friday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., both times at the Parker Chapel. Interment will be in the Parker Cemetery under the direction of Baxter Funeral Home.
