Clifford William Paskett, 104, of Ashton, died September 21, 2014, at the Ashton Living Center of causes incident to age.
He was born April 13, 1910, in Basalt, Idaho to Philip James and Gena Emmaline McCurdy Paskett. He attended grade school in Basalt and then graduated from Firth High School.
He married Inez Marie Johnson on February 15, 1930, in Burley, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. After their marriage they made their home in Oakley, Idaho for a time before moving to Ashton.
In Ashton he worked as the manager of the local grain elevator.
He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He loved spending time in the outdoors hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed golfing and working in his garden.
His family was most important to him and he loved spending time with them. He was an example to his family of a lifetime of service.
He is survived by his grandsons, Ricky Paskett of Ashton, Kim (Jean) Paskett of Rexburg; a sister Mildred Mecham of Firth; great-grandsons Russ (Katy) Paskett of Idaho Falls, Scott (Maighen) Paskett of Idaho Falls, Justin (Chelsea) Paskett of Caldwell, Idaho and 9 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Inez, sons Richard and Russell, and six siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 25, at the Ashton LDS 4th Ward Chapel, 1313 North 3600 East, with Bishop Randy Palmer officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday morning from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Pineview Cemetery under the direction of Baxter Funeral Home.
