Craig
Knapp
Jan 28, 1960 — Nov 1, 2025
With hearts full of love we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend. Steven Craig Knapp passed away on November 01, 2025 at home with his wife by his side.
Craig was born on January 28th, 1960 in Rexburg, Idaho to Steve and Shirleen Knapp. He grew up in Ashton with his family of five younger siblings where he honed his love for sports and the great outdoors. After graduating high school, he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in St. Louis Missouri. Craig got an Associate's Degree from Rick's College followed by a technical degree of Eastern Idaho Technical College. He met the love of his life, Kelly Jo Brewster at Rick's College and they were married in the Idaho Falls Temple on August 19th 1983. Together they had five children: Jordan, Dustin, Dane, Kendra, and Macie.
Kelly and Craig shared 42 years of marriage where they enjoyed a life focused on their family. He showed his love for his Savior through serving many callings within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His dedicated career as a health physics technician brought his family to Washington state and then back to his home in Idaho. His love for his family was evident in how he lived his life as he prioritized spending time with those he cared about. He loved watching his kids and grandkids play sports and loved being in nature where he thoroughly enjoyed anything to do with the great outdoors. He especially loved sharing these hobbies with his family. He spent his time with his kids looking for sheds, camping, fishing, hunting, and later in life teaching many grandchildren how to fish, instilling a love for nature in his posterity.
Craig is survived by his loving wife, Kelly Jo Knapp of Rexburg ID; his parents Steve and Shirleen Knapp of Ashton ID; his brothers Corey (Mikki) Knapp of Saint Anthony ID; Curt Knapp (Jennifer) of Pocatello ID; Chad (Carol) Knapp of Kennewick WA; Corbett (Jessica) Knapp of Rigby ID; his sister Tracy (Jake) Morgan of Idaho Falls ID; his sons Jordan (Danyel) Knapp of Rexburg, ID; Dustin (Stacie) Knapp of Island Park, ID; Dane (Corey) Knapp of Rexburg ID; his daughters Kendra (Ben) Eaton of Idaho Falls, ID; Macie (Trey) McArthur of Durham (NC); and his grandkids Wyatt, Sicily, Ashtyn, Conner, Weston, Brock, Brigham, Ayleigh and Laila.
A funeral service will be held in Craig's honor at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 6, 2025 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints building at 5973 N. 5000 W. Rexburg, ID 83440. A viewing will take place from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday November 5, 2025 and Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m., both at the church, where friends and family are invited to pay their respects. Interment will be in the Pineview Cemetery in Ashton, Idaho.
We take comfort in knowing that we will see him again as families can be together forever and that he is reunited with his Savior, Jesus Christ.
