Dacoda Kent Phelps was born to Teresa and Eric Phelps on February 24, 1995, in Rexburg, Idaho. He was the third of four children Erika, Lacy, Dacoda, and Branson.

Growing up you were sure to find Dacoda on the farm, logging with his grandpa, or playing with cousins. When you'd ask his name he would proudly respond, "Dacoda Kent Fisher Logging" Dacoda attended elementary school and graduated high school from North Fremont in Ashton. He was a loyal friend and always the first to volunteer to help when you were in need.

After graduating, Dacoda moved to Montana to live with family. He became a miner with his step-father, Jon Rushford. He was always surrounded by loved ones. He loved spending time outdoors camping, riding, hanging with friends and creating memories. After the death of his brother Branson, and step-father Jon, he moved back home to Ashton. He took another mining job and commuted to work weekly. Throughout his life he continually sent messages to check in with family and friends and to let you know that he loved you.

Dacoda was a family man. He loved sitting at the campfire sharing stories and catching up with friends and family. No one looked up to Dacoda more than his nieces and nephews. Dacoda was the first person they would reach for and he was happy to spend time together with them.

Dacoda left this earthly world on August 17, 2022, at the age of twenty-seven. He is preceded in death by his brother Branson Phelps and father Eric Phelps. He is survived by his mother Teresa Phelps, sisters Erika Phelps and Lacy Miller (Brandon), Grandparents Kent and Gayle Fisher, grandparents Leslie Bigler, and Doyle & Beatrice Phelps, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 20, 2022, at the Ashton 4th Ward LDS Church. Family will receive friends prior to services from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
