Myron Dale Cordingley, 87, of Ashton, died Sunday, June 26, 2016, at his home surrounded by family. He was born July 12, 1928, in a one room cabin in Marysville, Idaho, the only son of Myron and Myrtle Cordingley. As a child he developed a love for farming and ranching.
While in high school, he met the love of his life, Wanda Fern Robinson. They were married in Jackson Hole, Wyoming in 1949. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. Dale and Wanda were the parents of one son and two daughters.
In 1975, Dale and Wanda purchased a ranch and moved west of Ashton. Later Dale and his son, Robby, established a registered Black Angus herd of cattle. Over the years their bulls won 5 world championships. In 1995, Dale was named Cattleman of the Year.
Dale was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as Bishop of the Ashton First Ward. This was a very special time of his life.
Dale had a passion for the outdoors, a love that he passed on to his children and grandchildren. Dale and Wanda provided a legacy of honor for their family to follow. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his children, Robby (Patti) Cordingley, Tami (Curtis) Wood, Gayla (Ron) Harding; nephew Rex (LaDawn) Baum; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and a sister Elenor Bellon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and his wife Wanda.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, at the Ashton First Ward Chapel. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., both times at the church. Interment will be in the Pineview Cemetery under the direction of Baxter Funeral Home.
