Delores Jean Ball Blanchard, 82, of Chester, Idaho, passed away April 25, 2018, at her home with her family by her side.
Delores was born on March 14, 1936, in Boise, Idaho to Lloyd Bristol Ball and Oleta May Mooney Ball. She grew up and attended schools in Melba, Idaho.
She joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on May 3, 1958. She was an active member of the church and served in many callings including Primary President, Relief Society President, Counselor in the Young Women's Presidency, Activities Committee and visiting teacher. Delores enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening and sewing matching clothes for her daughters. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joy of her life.
Delores is survived by all 12 of her children; son, Michael (Carol) Whitten of Meridian, ID; daughter, Cindy Rogers of Woodland, CA; daughter, Debora Langley of Meridian, ID; daughter Terry (Hugh) Munns of Menan, ID; son, Randy Whitten of St. Anthony, ID; daughter, Pamela (Randy)Berkheimer of Vacaville, CA; daughter, Beverly (Mark) Oswald of Cedar Hills, UT; daughter, Denise (Daren) Dayton of Wilford, ID; daughter, Christi (Mike) Peterson of Meridian; daughter, Gloria (Alvin) Lusk of Wilford, ID; son, Vance (Lesli) Blanchard of Chester, ID; daughter, Evelyn (Josh) Marchant of Chester, ID; brother, Ralph (Lorraine) Ball of Nampa, ID; 51 grandchildren and 63 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Evan A. Blanchard; her parents; sister, Mildred Grimm; son-in-law Robert William Rogers; and great grandson, McKeon Whitten.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at the Ashton LDS Stake Center, 516 N. 2nd St. in Ashton, ID with Bishop Chuck Hanson officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday evening from 5:30 to7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., both times at the stake center. Burial will be in the Chester Cemetery under the direction of Baxter Funeral Home.
