Doyle Aaron Daniels, 92, of St. Anthony and formerly of Ashton, died July 2, 2023, from causes incident to age.
He was born June 14, 1931, in Live Oak, California, to Vere Fullmer and Lettie Ireta White Daniels. He was raised in the Tetonia and Ashton areas where he attended school.
At age 16, he joined the US Army where he served honorably for 3 years.
After returning home he was married to Clea Clark on June 20, 1951. He and Clea lived and raised their four children in Ashton. Clea died on December 8, 1999. Doyle was later married to Donna Clark and they made their home in St. Anthony.
Doyle was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served faithfully in many callings, including as a high councilman and as a temple worker. His favorite calling was as Scoutmaster. He served for 20 years and was awarded the Silver Beaver for his devoted service. He and Donna served a mission for the church in the Nauvoo Mission.
Doyle retired as the manager of the Pillsbury Grain Elevator in Ashton. He then worked for the Madison County Co-op for another 10 years.
He enjoyed fishing and golfing. He loved his family and was supportive of all of them in their many activities.
He is survived by his wife Donna; children, Lynnor Gates, Doyle Vere (Annette) Daniels, Julia Ann Egbert, Diane (Dave) Parker; siblings, Lyle Vere (Joan) Daniels and Kay Bright; twelve grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clea; parents; brothers, Gene and Arlo; a sister Karen; and a granddaughter, Katherine.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, at the St. Anthony 3rd Ward Chapel, 507 West 2nd North, with Bishop Ron Birch officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Baxter Funeral Home, 717 Main Street, in Ashton, and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church in St. Anthony prior to services. Interment will be in the Ashton Pineview Cemetery.
