Emma Dean Davidson Hathaway, departed this life for the next on February 29, 2024.  She was a resident of Downey, Idaho, where she resided with her son, Rick

She was born, 22 January 1937, in Manilla, Arkansas, to Julius Henry Davidson and Elva Joslin Davidson. She was preceded in death by her parents both of whom are buried in Oaklawn Cemetery, Brinkley, Arkansas; one brother, Lawrence Wesley Davidson, of Chicago, Illinois; and one daughter who was born and died on 5 June 1970, Hopkinsville, Christian Co., Kentucky. This child is buried in Haley's Mill Cemetery, Christian Co., Kentucky. Also one sister, who was born and died on 5 Feb 1925, Van Buren, Crawford Co., Arkansas. Also Manuella Andres Colas Davidson, wife of a brother Emmel F. Davidson,,of Irving, Texas; and Almita Carol Goodnight Davidson, wife of a brother Harvey D. Davidson of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Henry Amos Davidson of Venezuella; One son ,Julius Brockman Lenox of Layton, Utah. Alma Lee Davidson Deason and spouse of Mablevale, Arkansas; Emmel Frelen Davidson of Texas Also, John Ellis Hathaway, and George C. Lenox, her previous husbands.

Survivors include six children (listed in order of birth) Rickie Frank Lenox, of Downey ,Idaho, Edward Charles Lenox and spouse Nancy L. Hill Lenox, of Beavercreek, Oregon; Julius Brockman Lenox(DECD) and spouse Ronda Kathlene DeLong Lenox, of Layton, Utah; Tom Lenox , of Rigby,Idaho;  and John Ellis (Jay) Hathaway and spouse Julia Fawson Hathaway, of Rexburg, Idaho and Alexander Stuart Hathaway and spouse Briana Hathaway, of Ohio.  And also several step children of John Ellis Hathaway.  Also surviving her are brothers and sisters (listed in order of birth) Anna Bell Davidson Chandler of Raleigh, North Carolina; and Harvey Doyle Davidson of Argyle, Texas,, and grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Emma Dean graduated high school in Brinkley, Monroe Co., Arkansas in 1955, and was the first in her family to to do so. She attended business school in Lexington, Kentucky, where she refreshed her skills at typing, bookkeeping and other skills needed in an office. She worked for the State of Kentucky as a secretary in the Atomic Energy Department, the Department of Revenue and the Department of Legal Affairs . After moving to Oregon she worked for the Veterans Hospital in the Pharmacy Dept.. After her marriage to John Hathaway she managed a motel in Kaysville, Utah. Her interest were sewing, garden work and genealogy.

She spent many years researching her family and helping others with their research.

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, which she and her family joined in 1968 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2024, at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
