Glen Earl Moon was born June 11, 1936 to Samuel Ray Moon and Ivy May Dixon Moon in Sarilda, Idaho. He passed away surrounded by family in his home on October 5, 2017. He was the 5thof 8 children raised on a farm west of Ashton, Idaho.
He grew up farming, hunting, fishing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and loved working outside. Glen attended elementary school in Sarilda's one room school house and later graduated from North Fremont High School in the spring of 1955.
He married Barbara Jean Deatherage on June 8, 1957. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 9, 1965. From their marriage came 9 wonderful children.
Glen farmed and logged for most of his adult life. As the years passed, he became less and less willing to leave Fremont County or the State of Idaho due to his love of the area (which he referred to as "God's Country"). He loved picnics, barbeques and family gatherings where he enjoyed the company of his children and grandchildren. He loved his family and was proud of all his children.
Glen is preceded in death by his brother, Baby Boy Moon, parents, sister Muriel, a daughter Glenda Del Porto and a son Kevin Moon. He is survived by Barbara Jean Moon, Tammy (Dean) Hatt, son-in-law John (Glenda) Del Porto, Vendla (James) Parrish, Jim (Anna) Moon, Sara Moon, Reese (Lark) Moon, Amy (Frank) Sykes, Dennis (Alisa) Moon, daughter-in-law Shanda Crystal (Kevin Moon) and by 32 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren He is survived by bothers, Warren, Ellsworth, AJ and Dennis Moon and his sister, Beatrice Blain.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at 11:00 am at the Ashton First Ward Chapel,1313 North 3600 East, Ashton, Idaho. The family will receive visitors on Friday, October 13, 2017, from 5:30 to 7:00 at Baxter Funeral Home, 717 Main Street in Ashton and on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Ashton First Ward Building from 10:00 to 10:45. Interment will be in the Ora Cemetery.
