Obituary

An amazing man of great strength, courage and love, Harold "Hersh" F. Lenz, of Ashton, passed after a short stay in the Ashton Living Center on July 22, 2016. He was born May 16, 1937 to Eleanore and Otto Lenz of Ashton.

He grew up the youngest of five children, graduate from North Fremont High School and was a member of the Idaho National Guard.

He married Delores Hill on November 8, 1963, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ashton. They raised 3 children in Ashton and had 8 grandchildren.

Hersh was an active member of the Ashton community from his time farming, driving a school bus and the activities school bus for many years and as a business owner of Lenz Electronics.

He is survived by his three children Stacey and Bill Steele of Ashton, Bryan and Brooke Lenz of Ashton, and Deanna Lenz and Will Hampton of Ashton; 8 grandchildren, Tyler Lenz , Justin Lenz, Jacey Lenz, Trystan Lenz, Jaydin Lenz, Lance Steele, Blake Steele and Hannah Steele; a sister, Francis Kraemer of Laurel, NB; and a brother Robert Lenz of Lewistown, MT.

He was preceded in death by his wife Delores Hill Lenz, father Otto Lenz, mother Eleanore Griffel Lenz, and sisters, Marlene Lenz Ingelstrom and Cleo Lenz Abshire.

We will miss him terribly, but we are comforted in the love and memory of our dad, grandfather, sibling and friend.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ashton. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Baxter Funeral Home, 717 Main Street, and again Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment will be in Pineview Cemetery with military rites by the American Legion and Idaho Honor Guard.
