Ione Merrick Bush, 83, of St. Anthony, died November 10, 2021, at her daughter's home of natural causes. She was born May 29, 1938, in St. Anthony, Idaho to Frank and Emma Ione Jensen Merrick. Her mother died during childbirth and she was raised by her grandmother Emma Stimpson.

She attended schools in St. Anthony and graduated from South Fremont High School. She then attended Ricks College and graduated with her Associate Degree.

She married C. Don Bush on July 25, 1959, in St. Anthony. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. They lived and raised their three daughters in St. Anthony. Don passed away in 2007.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings.

She worked for many years at the Juvenile Correction Center as a bookkeeper.

She was an artist and loved painting. She also enjoyed lots of other crafts. She was a wonderful cook and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Melanie (Karl) Miller of Parker, Miriam (Jerry) Fisher of St. Anthony, Alison (Michael Smith) Bush of Destin, Florida; siblings, Bryant Merrick and Jana Merrick; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; and a sister, Glenda Bayless.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 16, at the Wilford LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Wilford Cemetery under the direction of Baxter Funeral Home.
