Jacqueline McArthur Nagle, passed away at home, Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at the age of 85.
She was born in St. Anthony, Idaho on October 2, 1932, to Danford McArthur and Myrtle Birch McArthur. She was the youngest of four children. When Jacque was just 3 years old her father passed away, leaving her mother to raise four children. She went to elementary school in St. Anthony and attended South Fremont High School.
On December 8, 1951, she married Richard Miller Nagle in Idaho Falls. Rich and Jacque lived in St. Anthony for two years and then moved to Parker where she lived for 64 years. To this union were born four children, Danford D., Riki Nadine, Michael Kip, and Suzette.
In her youth Jacque worked various jobs in St. Anthony. After her marriage she and Rich farmed in the Parker area. In 1968, she became employed at the State Youth Service Center where she continued her employment until her retirement in 1994. Jacque loved being a grandmother and became known as Granny by everyone.
Jacque was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Jacque had a wonderful sense of humor and a contagious laugh. She was an avid bowler and was exceptional at solving crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her daughters, Riki (David) Ker of Idaho Falls and Suzette Nagle of St. Anthony; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Included with her own biological grandchildren are several honorary grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she and Rich considered their own. She is also survived by her sister, Jean Smith of Idaho Falls.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rich; two brothers, Merlin and Greg McArthur; and two sons, Danford D. and Michael Kip.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, at the Parker LDS Chapel, 132 N. Center Street. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m., both times at the Parker Chapel. Interment will be in the Parker Cemetery under the direction of Baxter Funeral Home.
