Joan Kvachkoff, 82, of Island Park, Idaho, passed away February 4, 2022. She was born December 8, 1939, in Gary, Indiana to John and Katherine Markovich Gedda. She was raised and attended school in Gary.

She was married to David James Kvachkoff on July 18, 1959, in Gary, Indiana, shortly after David was honorably discharged from the Marines.

Joan and David moved to Parker, Colorado, where they raised their family of threes sons and one daughter.

In her younger years, Joan worked in retail sales, including at J.C. Penney and Montgomery Ward. Later she was a co-owner with David in the food broker business that they owned.

After their retirement they moved to Island Park. Joan loved the serenity of Island Park, watching the wildlife, and enjoying the beauty of the outdoors. She liked to read and put together puzzles.

She is survived by her children, David Kvachkoff, Jr. and Jeffrey Kvachkoff both of Island Park, Gregory Kvachkoff of Denver, Colorado, Valerie (Bruce) Christensen of Fort Collins, Colorado; a sister, Mary Coates of Littleton, Colorado; and grandchildren, Kindra, Kelsey, Kade, Karly, Nicholas, Alyson, Melissa, and Krystal.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband David, Sr.; sister, Barbara Smothermon; and granddaughter, Kaylee.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
