Thelma June Smith Misseldine, 87, of Ashton, Idaho, passed quietly on July 2, 2014.
June was born in Rexburg, Idaho, on June 12, 1927, to Arial M. and Thelma Richards Smith. She graduated from Rexburg High School.
She was married to Hark Lay "Snick" Misseldine on February 8, 1946; they were sealed in the LDS Idaho Falls Temple April 16, 1966.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in various positions.
June enjoyed working as the Secretary of the North Fremont High School for 20 years, retiring on May 15, 1992. She enjoyed the kids and would spend time with them on the street or in the store. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting, sewing, golfing (at Aspen Acres), spending time with her family and grandchildren, and visiting with her friends. She served for years in the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her three children, Pamela M Hunt of Boise, Idaho, Frank Misseldine (Nancy) of Reno, Nevada, and Steven R Misseldine (Debra) of Boise, Idaho. Her 12 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren, her brother Willard Arial Smith (Faith) of Las Vegas, her sister Alice Smith Wilson (Don) of Pocatello, two sisters-in-law Ethel Elber Smith of Rexburg, Betty Jane Hanks Misseldine of Lake Oswego, Oregon.
June is preceded in death by her husband Snick, 4 brothers and 1 sister, Fred Mellor Smith, Gordon Richards Smith, Gaylen Robert Smith, Merlin Richards Smith, Vera Smith Ricks.
Memorial donations may be made to North Fremont High School for the June Misseldine Memorial Scholarship. The donations can be mailed to North Fremont High School, 3581 East 1300 North, Ashton, ID 83420. The family of June Misseldine wishes to thank the Ashton community for taking care of Mom (Grandma) for the last ten years.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, at the Teton-Newdale Cemetery, south of Teton City, Idaho, with Bishop Gary Marsden of the Ashton 3rd Ward officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Baxter Funeral Home, 717 Main Street, in Ashton.
