Layle Reed Bergeson, 67, of Ashton, passed away Saturday November 16, 2013, at Teton Valley Hospital in Driggs from multiple complications.
Layle was born in August 26, 1946, in Rexburg, Idaho to Reed and Louie Bergeson and was the third of five brothers. He attended school in Parker and St. Anthony.
He married Sharlene Hunt in 1969 and after living a short time in St. Anthony, Idaho, they made their home in Ashton, Idaho where he worked for Fall River Electric for 41 years.
Layle was an all-season outdoor enthusiast, enjoying hunting, ice fishing, yard work and raising a large vegetable garden. He was also an avid tinkerer, harnessing multiple lawn mowers at one time to mow his large yard as well as building his own snow plane.
He is preceded in death by his parents and younger brother Burke.
He is survived by his wife Sharlene, brothers LaVoy, Randall, and Cecil, and children Tye and Bridgette.
A visitation will be held Tuesday night at the Ashton Third Ward building, 1336 North 3600 East, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. and a graveside service on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Pineview Cemetery in Ashton, Idaho.
Memorial contributions can be made in Layle's name to the Ashton Giving Tree at Key Bank in Ashton.
