Obituary

Linda Kay Bolland, 73, of Ashton, died August 10, 2018, at her daughter's home in Jerome, Idaho of natural causes. She was born August 13, 1944, in Ashton, Idaho, to Stephen Reese and Della Ann Murdoch Davis. She attended schools in Ashton and graduated from North Fremont High School.

After graduating from high school, Linda attended Beauty College in Pocatello for one year and then married and had her family. In 1978, when Sharon, her youngest, went to first grade, Linda continued her education and worked under Mary Stronks and became a licensed beautician. She worked for a number of years before opening a salon in her home where she worked until her retirement.

She married Leroy Bolland on December 28, 1962, in Ashton. They moved to Blackfoot and he farmed for Lynn Murdoch and Albert Longhurst. In 1965, they moved to Ashton. After a few years they moved and lived for a time in Winnemucca, Nevada and then Hazelton, Idaho before moving back to Ashton for good in 1972. Four children were born to this marriage, Stephen, Tammy, Lori, and Sharon.

Linda was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She was a hard worker her entire life, and she loved and cared for several generations of her family as the need arose. She loved the older generation and spent many hours serving them, driving them to appointments, church, and going to their homes to do their hair.

Linda had a fun sense of humor and was able to laugh and smile through the hard times as well as the good times. She was known as "Toots" to many and loved to play practical jokes whenever the opportunity arose.

She enjoyed reality TV, gardening, and reading when time allowed. She loved hummingbirds and had feeders outside her windows where she could watch the hummingbirds come and go.

She is survived by her children; Stephen, Lori, and Sharon; her grandchildren, McKenzi, Hope, Taylor, Kaiden, and Shane; great-grandchildren, Treyson and Sayler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Della; her husband, Leroy; her daughter, Tammy; her son-in-law, Bruce Spitz; her brother, R.J. Davis; and her sister, Nancy Dawn.

The family extends a special thanks to the staff and caregivers at Ashton Living Center and Hospice Visions in Twin Falls.
