Obituary

Lottie Sue Kunz passed away on January 20, 2016 at home in Tetonia, Idaho. Lottie was born March 20, 1960 to Melvin and Reva Jean Kunz in Driggs, Idaho. She was born with a developmental disability, Down's Syndrome.

She spent much of her childhood in the Cedron area of Teton Valley with her parents, younger brother Dan Kunz, and her grandparents, Robert and Sophia Kunz. She went to school in Victor and Driggs - attending elementary and special education classes.

At 17, she moved to Shelley and then Idaho Falls at a couple different group homes. She worked at McDonalds, the Development Workshop, and attended Joshua Smith Foundation while she was lived in Idaho Falls. She participated in Special Olympics, winning metals in track and field events and bowling. She participated in a special scout troop for the disabled and was a member of Special Primary.

At age 43, Lottie moved back to Teton Valley to be with family and reconnect with old friends. She moved in with her cousin Lori and Logan Ringel and their family. While in Teton Valley she participated in the Joshua Smith Foundation in Driggs, Idaho and the Journeys program in Rexburg, Idaho. Through these programs she participated in the Teton County Fair and volunteered with TVH See 'n Save and Deseret Industries.

Lottie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved her Heavenly Father, music and nursery rhymes. She could recite and sing almost anything she learned. Lottie accepted her circumstances and was always a loving and happy person. She was noted to say she 'loves everybody,' but loved her family and friends the most. Her favorite things were singing, swimming and bowling.

Lottie is survived by her brother, Dan (LeAnn) Kunz of Middleton; 3 nieces, Danielle Kunz of Middleton; Miranda (Kasey) Gillespie of Oklahoma; Hunter Kunz of Rexburg; 2 nephews, Beau (Kayla) Kunz of Utah; Tucker Kunz of Middleton; 1 great niece and 2 great nephews. She is also survived by the Logan and Lori Ringel family, the Roy and Wendy Bell families; an aunt, Janiece Bell, all of Tetonia, Idaho; and may other cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Tetonia 2nd Ward Chapel in Tetonia, Idaho. A visitation will be held prior to services from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Cedron Cemetery under the direction of Baxter Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank Sue Beard, RN with Hands of Hope; Tetonia 2nd Ward; and all those who worked with Lottie through the years, for their dedication and service to not only Lottie but the Kunz, Ringel and Bell families.
