LuDean (Judd) Jensen, 81 from Ashton, Idaho was born February 13, 1933 in Oakley, Idaho in a two room log house and returned peacefully to her heavenly home Friday, March 6,2014. She was the second of six children born to Arnold Benjamin Judd and Marie Fern Millard. She attended elementary school in Oakley and Molton before the family moved to Utah where she continued her education.
She loved working with her hands both indoors and out. Her Grandma Millard taught her how to embroider and she created many beautiful pillowcases, dishtowels, and quilts that she shared with her family. If she had a piece of paper and a pencil she could be found drawing sketches of animals and people as well as designing quilt blocks. She also enjoyed writing stories. She spent many hours gathering history for her genealogy. She was right in the thick of it when scrapbooking became the craze. She spent many long hours sitting at her table which was covered with pictures, stickers, paper, and glue. Her scrapbooks became her treasures as they portrayed her life's experiences. She was a great cook. +She canned everything she could from berries to venison. She made delicious pies her husband and family enjoyed eating.
She loved hunting, fishing, and camping and many pages in her books are filled with pictures from her adventures. She loved gardening, especially her flowers. She spent many hours creating beautiful flower beds in her yard. She had various flowers blooming throughout the growing season. When it became too hard for her to care for them she started growing her plants in pots on her porch. She seemed to have the biggest smile on her face when her hands were working in the soil.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served in many positions, including primary and cub scouts.
She met Albert Lamont Jensen in Woods Cross, Utah. They were married March 19, 1950 and were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. She could often be found working or playing side by side with him as they ventured through life. She pounded wedges for him when he worked cutting trees for a living. She hunted and fished with him, often catching more fish than he did. She milked the cows with him when they started the dairy. She hammered nails right alongside him when they built her dream home in Ashton. She made do when times were hard and they had little money. They were blessed with five children, four boys and one girl, whom she loved very much. She devoted much of her life to them and they returned that love, caring for her when the need arose. They have also blessed her life with 25 grandchildren and 30 (and counting) great-grandchildren. They will all miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lamont Jensen of Ashton, one son Alvin Kay Jensen of Ashton, one grandson Jacob Alexander Jensen, her mother and father and two sisters; Donna Marie Hunt of Heyburn, Idaho and Ida Caryl (Bob) Dorges, Fresno California.
