Mae
Niendorf
May 1, 1922 — Jul 9, 2022
On the 9th day of July, 2022, Mae Reynolds Niendorf gained her angel wings at 100 years old.
Mae was born on May 1, 1922, in St. Anthony, Idaho to James John and Chloe Reynolds. She attended school in St. Anthony, Idaho, graduating from South Fremont High School in 1940. She grew up on a small farm in the Wilford area, solidifying her love for country living and the outdoors.
Mae married her life-long partner, Jack Garver Niendorf, and they settled in Drummond, Idaho. Mae worked hard to care for her family. An early riser, she cooked, cleaned, worked alongside her husband, Jack, and cared for her children. As a farmer's wife, Mae drove truck during harvest, prepared meals to make sure everyone was fed, and always expressed her love. Mae felt there was no better way to grow up than on a farm. Her quick wit led to many spirited conversations, and she held her own on issues for which she was passionate. She stitched the family together with the soft, strong bonds of family meals, sharing, and caring. Once her three children were raised, she and Jack adventured together until his passing. Mae enjoyed camping, riding dirt-bikes, oil painting, fishing trips to Alaska, and spending time with friends and family.
Her century-long life rewarded her posterity with lasting memories and relationships that have blessed her family and friends. Mae, along with 20 members of her immediate family, celebrated her 100th birthday together in Hawaii, a trip to remember.
Mae was no doubt greeted by her sweetheart. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack Garver Niendorf, her parents James and Chloe Reynolds, an infant son, Jack Jr., and all seven of her siblings, Rhoda Reynolds, Robert Reynolds, Melba Maupin, Norma Bauer, Jack Reynolds, Dallas Reynolds, Ross Reynolds. She is survived by her son Terry Niendorf, daughter Cindy Weston, son Kim Niendorf; 8 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
In her honor funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 15, at the Ashton Community United Methodist Church, 178 5th Street, with Pastor Russ Rhodes officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Baxter Funeral Home in Ashton, and Friday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Pineview Cemetery.
