Obituary

Margaret "Maggie" Louise Reimann, 62, of Ashton, died Saturday, November 21, 2015, in Chula Vista, California,with her husband and children at her side. She passed away after a short battle with a recurrence of breast cancer.

She was born December 12, 1952, in Bay Village, Ohio, to Willem and Jacoba Groenendijk van Mastrigt. She was raised in the Bay Area of California but traveled extensively with her father's work and graduated from George C. Marshall High School in Ankara, Turkey.

She returned to the States to attend Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. While attending Ricks, she met Manfred Reimann and they were married on November 12, 1976, in Ashton. They made their home and raised their family in Ashton.

Maggie's life centered around service. She volunteered for 35 years as an EMT in Fremont County. She was a founding member of BDM Medical and assisted in the development of the Spider Strap, a restraining device for backboards. She continued her medical involvement by training and testing new EMTs. She also owned Maggie's Art and Frame, framing and matting pictures and artwork. She produced all of the class pictures now on display at North Fremont High School.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and playing her violin, a hobby she began in her mid-40s. She loved to travel and learn new things.She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She is survived by her husband Manfred of Ashton; mother Jacoba van Mastrigt of Ammon, Idaho; daughter Amy (Troy) Hudson of South Weber, Utah; son David (Rebecca) Reimann of Rigby, Idaho; sister Pauline (Jack) Endecott of Squirrel, Idaho, brothers Wim and Frits van Mastrigt of California, and four grandchildren: Aliya, Aubrey, Sierra, and Logan.

She is preceded in death by her father, Willem van Mastrigt.


Grave side services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 28, at the Pineview Cemetery in Ashton. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. at Baxter Funeral Home before going to the cemetery for services.
