Obituary

Maikeli Koroi Cikaitoga,36, returned to his Heavenly Father and the arms of his son Tejay on Friday, July 26, 2013.

Maikeli was born November 17, 1976 in Ashton, Idaho, to Sam Koroi and Tamra Murdoch Cikaitoga. He attended school in Ashton, graduating from North Fremont High School where he was an outstanding wrestler and football player. He went on to attend Ricks College where he also participated in wrestling.

A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he was active in Scouting and any activity involving the outdoors.

He married the love of his life, Darby Lynn Buster on June 14, 2003 on the banks of Fall River. They made their home in Ashton where they were busy raising their three children.

One heck of a fisherman, Maikeli was happiest when he was fishing, and hunting, with his sons Tejay and Sammi. Or, taking an ATV ride with his best friend, and wife, Darby. He enjoyed being an involved "bleacher dad" watching his daughter Rilee play soccer and basketball. He was very proud of his children and supported them in all of their activities.

Maikeli loved the beauty of eastern Fremont County and Jackson Hole, a route he traveled each work day for almost 19 years where he was employed by Allred Tree Service.

Maikeli is preceded in death by his son Tejay Koroi, his father Sam and his grandparents Thomas H. and Alta Murdoch.

He is survived by his wife Darby and daughter Rilee of Ashton and his son Sammi Koroi of Rexburg. His mother Tamra of Ashton, brother Quinn Koroi of Hauula, HI, sisters Brooke (Derek) Burgess of Idaho Falls and Katie of Boise. He also leaves his mother and father in-law, Debbie and Jeff Buster of St. Anthony.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 31 at the Ashton LDS Stake Center, 516 North Second Street. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. before services, both times at the Stake Center. Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery under the direction of Baxter Funeral Home.
