Marjorie Orr Daniel was born July 29, 1938, in Salmon, Idaho to Sylvan and Curtie Orr. Soon after, the family moved to Plano to farm. She grew up working hard on the family farm and has always had a love for the sandy soil of Plano.
Marge attended school at Edmunds and graduated from Sugar Salem High School. She went on to study at Ricks College and work as a bookkeeper at JC Penney where she met Larry Daniel. On December 30, 1959, they were married in the Idaho Falls Temple. Larry was in the military, so the first six years of their marriage they moved often. During that time they lived in Georgia, Texas, Alabama, and Germany, and had the opportunity to travel throughout Europe. Lifelong friendships were made and those years were remembered fondly.
After returning to the States, Larry's education and jobs took them to Salt Lake City, Rexburg, Mapleton, Roosevelt, Randlette, and Provo, Utah. They spent many years in Ashton, then on to Ramah, New Mexico; Driggs, Idaho; Thoreau, New Mexico; and Cokeville, Wyoming.
Marge was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and always served diligently in her callings, investing all her efforts in the spiritual growth of those she associated with. Through this she has been able to bless the lives of many, earning their love and respect that has endured her whole life.
For many years she looked forward to serving a mission with her husband. She and Larry were called to be Humanitarian missionaries in Zimbabwe, Africa. They served there for two years. She loved working side by side with Larry and grew to love the people of Africa.
Not long after returning from Zimbabwe, her health began to fail, and four years ago they moved home to Idaho.
Marge was known for her beautiful gardens. Wherever in the world she found herself, she grew a garden. Even when she was told a garden would not grow.
But her greatest accomplishment was that of wife and mother. She is the mother of 11 children who are grateful for her life of selfless service. She was very proud of her family and supported her husband through every calling and stage of life.
Marge passed away in her home in St. Anthony on October 12, 2016.
She is survived by her husband Larry of St. Anthony; children, Bill (Jennifer) Daniel of Gillette, Wyoming, Sherry (Todd) Edwards of Logan, Utah, Kay (Ben) Hildebrand of Wilford, Becky (Matt) Sellers of Rexburg, Robert (Fran) Daniel of Soda Springs, Jennifer Daniel of Wilford, Ryan (Stephanie) Daniel of Meridian, David (Brenda) Daniel of Idaho Falls, Jeremy (Sarah) Daniel of Alpine, Wyoming, Ben (Heidi) Daniel of Afton, Wyoming; siblings, Brownie (Arlene) Orr, Golden (Helen) Orr, Wendell (JoAnn) Orr, Larry (Cheryl) Orr, Guin (Crandall) Nielson, Dick (Linda) Orr; 48 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
