Obituary

Marilyn Brown Seeley, 93, of Chester, died Saturday, August 27, 2022, at her home of natural causes. She was born January 5, 1929, in Parker, Idaho to Joseph Vernal and Ella Mason Brown. Growing up she attended schools in Parker and St. Anthony and graduated from St. Anthony High School.

She married Morgan Elmo Seeley on November 2, 1950, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home, and raised their family of seven children, in Chester. Elmo passed away on September 17, 2018.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as choir director, as the chorister in all of the auxiliaries, and directed many Roadshows.

She worked at the St. Anthony Youth Service Center for a number of years and then later worked for Artco in Rexburg.

She enjoyed writing poetry. She loved the arts, classical music, and good literature. One of her favorite things was traveling with her sisters. She loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Pamela Johnson, Mark (Becky) Seeley, Alan Seeley, DeAnn (Myron) Spencer, Wyn (Kathy) Seeley, Wade Seeley; son-in-law, Roland LaFlamme; siblings, Ilene Cooley, Jack (Emma) Brown, Leila Chadwick, Linelle Rose, Max Brown, Verla (Dean) Beus, Valerie Schaechter; 23 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmo; daughter, Susan LaFlamme; son-in-law, Chuck Johnson; and siblings, Wyn, Beverly, Verus, and Joel.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 1, at the Ashton LDS Stake Center, 516 North 2nd Street. The family will receive friends and family Thursday morning from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the stake center prior to services. Interment will be in the Chester Cemetery.
