Michael Paul Mickelsen, 29, of Ashton, died Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Madison Memorial Hospital from complications from muscular dystrophy. He was born September 18, 1984 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. His parents are Brian and Ruth Kidder.

He was raised and attended school in Ashton. He attended Ashton Elementary through sixth grade. As his illness progressed he was no longer able to attend school and was taught at home by his mother. He became a whiz on the computer and was able to work on both his and his brother's computer.

He loved animals, especially his dog Angel. He was a wrestling fan and enjoyed watching WWE. He loved to watch football and was a diehard Cowboys fan.

He was a member of the Ashton Christian Fellowship.

He is survived by his parents, Brian and Ruth Kidder of Ashton; a brother Chris Mickelsen of Ashton, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his brothers, Jared Mickelsen and Jess Kidder; and a cousin Lindsey Crislip.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, at the Ashton Christian Fellowship with Pastor Rich Laux officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m at Baxter Funeral Home in Ashton and Thursday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Burial will be in the Pineview Cemetery.
