Obituary

Nannetta D. Ghormley, 94, of Ashton, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2017, surrounded by family. She was born November 23, 1922, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Orville J. and Helen Marie Ingram Roysdon. She spent most of her young life living in Montana, Utah, Wyoming and Idaho.

Nan met Donald R. Ghormley in Ashton, and they married March 21, 1942. They had five children, Nancy Dawn, Mitchell Reid, Dennis Claude, Scott Donald and Maurice Kane.

Nan and Don owned Ghormley Mechanical in Ashton. Don served in three wars during his military career. While he was away from home serving his country, Nan ran and managed Ghormley Mechanical. She loved her country and was proud of Don's service and willingly took care of things at home while he was away.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, gardening, rock hounding, dancing, volunteering, and reading. She loved going on rides out through the countryside.

She was active in the following organizations: Ashton Community United Methodist Church, Florence Circle of the Methodist Church, Clover Leaf Rebekah Lodge, Ashton Senior Citizens, and the Ashton Flea Market.

Nan and Don traveled to many different places around the world. Some of their favorite places were Arizona, Alaska, Bangladesh, Guam and Egypt.

She loved and accepted everyone unconditionally, and instilled her values and faith in her family. She was proud of her children and their accomplishments as well as her nieces and nephews and their accomplishments.

She is survived by her children, Nancy (Harold) Strom of Shelley, Mitchell Ghormley of Ashton, Dennis (Sandra) Ghormley of Baker City, Oregon, Scott (Lorri) Ghormley of Belgrade, Montana, Maurice Ghormley of Island Park; eighteen grandchildren, Desi Larson, Ric (Teresa) Larson, David (Jill) Larson, Leila (Gary) Muse, Rhett (Sarah) Perdew, Randy (Dori) Foster, Charlie (Christine) Bell, Michael (Heather) Bell, Samantha Bell, Beverly (Jeff) Kidwell, Brian (Toni) Stromberg, Todd (Stephanie) Ghormley, Daniel Ghormley, Jacob Ghormley, Ryan (Nicole) Ghormley, Nathan Ghormley, Vince Ghormley; 28 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Maurice Roysdon; and two sisters, Ella Baker and Lura Isaacs; and a grandson, Steven Larson.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 14, at the Ashton Community United Methodist Church, 178 S. Fifth Street, with Rev. Dr. Desi Larson officiating. The family will receive friends that morning from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Inurnment will be in the Pineview Cemetery under the direction of Baxter Funeral Home.
