Rosemarie Jacobsen was called to heaven on October 30, 2026, at the age of 90 years.

She was born June 5, 1936, in Ashton Idaho to parents Henry Martin Bolland and Freida Luetjen Bolland and raised in Squirrel and Ashton Idaho. Rosemarie was the second youngest of seven children raised on a potato farm in a scenic part of southern Idaho. She was a shy child who enjoyed playing by a nearby river, working on the farm, and developing her love of music. As a high schooler, Rosemarie was a good student who enjoyed her classes, church choir, acting in school plays, weekly square dancing at Squirrel Hall, and frequent visits to Pierre’s Playhouse in Victor. After graduation, Rosemarie boarded a train to Portland to complete two years of college and met the love of her life, Thomas C. Jacobsen. Some years later, Rosemarie received a teaching certificate from Chadron State College. Throughout her teaching career, she taught several grades in California, Nebraska, Washington, and Wyoming. Rosemarie touched the lives of many children with creativity, and loving dedication to her students. She retired from teaching in the late 1990’s, although she continued as a substitute teacher for many years.

Rosemarie and Tom were married on August 23, 1959. They were blessed with three children Carl, Jenny, and Krystal. In 2007 Rosemarie and Tom retired to her hometown of Ashton Idaho.

Rosemarie was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings (Herb, Paul, Dorothy, Bud, Bill, and John) and husband of 64 years, Tom. She is survived by her children, Carl and his wife Lisa, Jenny and her husband Shawn, and Krystal and her husband Rob. Rosemarie is also survived by grandchildren Mikaela, Morgan, John, Ryan and great grandchildren Amelie and Emmeline.

Rosemarie will be remembered for her unwavering Christian faith, her deep knowledge of Scripture, and her willingness to share the wisdom, hope, and comfort found in God’s word. She will also be remembered for her love of nature, her multifaceted, enduring musical ability, her love of family, and her sense of adventure.
