Steve
Fender
Sep 24, 1949 — Oct 6, 2024
The Lord came to take my husband, Steve Fender, home on the 6th of October. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends at his home in Ashton.
Steve was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on September 24, 1949. He had four brothers and a sister. He was third in the lineup of siblings. Steve's dad was a pilot in the Navy and was assigned many different locations and they moved a lot. With those moves Steve had many opportunities to experience so many things. He went muskrat hunting, had a newspaper route, learned how to surf, fish, and hunt.
Steve moved to Boise, Idaho in the 70's where he met his wife Becky Murphy and her daughter Jamie. They were married in April of 1987. They moved to California where Steve became a construction contractor. In 2021, they retired and moved back to Idaho. Within three months of returning to Idaho, Steve learned that he had cancer. He fought a brave fight for three years. He had just enjoyed his 75th birthday and was praying to see his 76th, but our Lord had other plans.
Steve had three children from a previous marriage, a daughter, Regan; and two sons, Michael and Matthew.
Steve is survived by his wife, Becky; daughter, Regan of California; son, Michael of Japan; daughter, Jamie of Emmett, Idaho; four brothers, Ron, Dave, Rick, and Geoff; and a sister, Brooks Likins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Betti Fender; and a son, Matthew Gordon Fender.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on November 21, 2024, at the Ashton Christian Fellowship, 784 Baker Road. Luncheon will follow immediately after for family and friends.
