Obituary

Terral "Terry" Don Huntsman, 78, of Ashton, Idaho, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Saturday, April 23, 2016.

Terry was born June 20, 1937 in Ashton, Idaho to Emma Adelaid (Richards) Huntsman and William Glen Huntsman. He grew up and attended school in Ashton. After school he joined the National Guard and loved being in the service of his country.

He met his sweetheart Jerrie Pearson and they married January 15, 1955 and had a fun loving family of 4 boys and 1 girl. Kelly, Kerry, Jeff, Brett and Kristi. They made their home in Ashton where Terry worked many years as the Assistant Manager of the Fremont CoOp. and also for Tony's American. He worked for the Interstate Power Company and helped put up the power lines from Drummond to Bear Gulch, he also worked for Reinke Grain. He loved people and these jobs enabled him to be a part of the community where he could help others and make many friends. Terry was president of the Lions Club and also the North Fremont Booster Club where he was also able to help in community activities.

Terry loved camping and fishing. He took pride in his beautiful yard and garden and spent many hours taking care of it. His greatest love was his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He always loved when they came to visit and had fun playing with them and telling them stories of the good old days.

Terry is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jerrie (Pearson) Huntsman, his sister Renee Dexter, Ashton; his children Kelly Huntsman, (Jody) of Ririe, Id; Kerry Huntsman (Patti) of Idaho Falls, Id; Jeff Huntsman, (Teresa) of Newdale, Id; Brett Huntsman of Ashton, Id; Kristi Wohlschlegel, (Mickey) of Ashton, Id. He has 19 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. Terry was proceeded in death by four brothers, Lamar, DeLos, Laurel, Vernon (Butch), one sister, Delora and one grandson, Zachary Jade Huntsman.

He will be missed by so many, but the love he gave to each of us will always be remembered.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 28, at the Ashton LDS 4th Ward Chapel with Bishop Jared Morrison officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 5:30- 7:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. both times at the church. Burial will be in the Pineview Cemetery under the direction of Baxter Funeral Home. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 89.
