Trandyn Raye Garner, of Rexburg, Idaho, unexpectedly passed away November 1, 2022, due to a car accident near Ashton, Idaho. He was born in Rexburg, Idaho on December 24, 1993, at Madison Memorial Hospital. He was raised by his parents Nicole Richman, Thad Garner, Tecia Garner, and father figure, Jamie Winters.

Trandyn grew up excelling in his favorite sport, baseball, where he coached a multitude of people in the Rexburg area as well as his younger brothers. He wanted nothing more than to be present at every game that his brother's played and was heartbroken any time he couldn't, even if it was while he was living more than 500 miles away.

Trandyn graduated from Madison High School in Rexburg, Idaho in 2012, where he developed his smarts as much as his troublemaking skills alongside his partners and brothers in crime, Derek Anderson and Bryce Hoffmann. Throughout his childhood and high school years, Trandyn was never the center of attention but rather the person who would stay at the back of the line making sure every person got their share before him. To know him was to know that he would root for your every decision and accomplishment. Daily he helped people more than was expected of him and ensured their comfort and safety before his own. Trandyn made it his full-time job to ensure he cracked jokes and picked on his sister Aibree, as siblings do. When Aibree gave birth to her daughter, Oaklyn, Tran was ecstatic to be an uncle. Tears came as soon as his first niece was in his arms. Trandyn's brothers, Traeson, Kyzon, and Kelton, were his best friends and were some of his favorite people to force to tickle his legs for $1 each time, which was never paid (lol).

In October 2014, Trandyn made the insane decision to move 500 miles away to Hurricane, Utah with a girl he barely knew… Laura "Lou". The day they moved in together, they decided to start dating. Their decision made everyone think they were crazy, but ultimately this was likely the best decision they ever made.

One month into their relationship, Laura's mom passed away. That's when Trandyn met her family for the first time. Despite the circumstances, she vividly remembers everyone's affection for how kind Trandyn was and how grateful they were that he was there for her.

Throughout their time in Utah, Trandyn and Lou worked alongside each other in management through 3 different jobs, their favorite being Perks at Zion in Springdale, Utah. Here they developed a deep-rooted family within the coffee community of Southern Utah and eventually around the world. They met people from all over the world who still stay in touch, although they are a hemisphere or further away. At perks, Trandyn fell in love with coffee and latte art. He hosted latte art competitions, flew to Denver for one, and inspired thousands of baristas through his Instagram page.

On October 6, 2017, after exactly 40 weeks of anxious waiting, Lou and Trandyn welcomed their first born, Landyn Raye, into the world in Saint George, Utah. Landyn quickly became the coffee shop baby and was a big impact in everyone's life alongside his parents… smiling, laughing, and spreading goofiness.

Lou and Trandyn married August 26, 2018, in Saint George, in a desert themed wedding. They remember it as an absolute dream, surrounded by some of their favorite people. They remained in their desert home until 2021, when they decided to come home to Idaho and be close to their family.

On October 21, 2021, Lou and Trandyn welcomed their second born, Asher Salem, on a harvest full moon, one month early, just as Lou had predicted… (if you know, you know). Asher stormed into the world with his bright personality and has been his big brother Landyn's best friend ever since.

Trandyn had a joke for every situation, whether it was an embarrassing dad joke, or something vulgar. All of us know by heart a specific phrase coined from him: "It's not weird unless you make it weird", "What's up man?!", "That's the way the cookie crumbles", "Hell yeah!", "Deeeeeeecent".

Trandyn's laughter, humor, and character were the best parts about him but to be totally honest, everything was the best part about him. No one in his life has ever, nor will ever meet another person that could ever match the energy that Tran radiated. Most recently, Trandyn was working (more like playing) as a carpenter/framer alongside his dad, brothers, and other brothers. He acted like a complete maniac at work, and everybody loved every second of it. He was rebellious, an overachiever, a workaholic, a dedicated father and husband. He was on his way to work on a house (officially named "The House That Tran Built") in Ashton when the stupid moose wandered into the road in front of him. Right now, all of us have agreed that he is saying "**** THAT MOOSE!".

This is Lou who is writing this obituary, and the message I want to send out to the world, per what I'm sure would've been Tran's request is that this situation "will only be weird if you make it weird", and that "it'll be okay, we'll figure it out".

Trandyn is survived by his beloved wife Laura Lou, his sons, Landyn and Asher, parents Nicole Richman (Jacy), Thad Garner & Tecia Garner, Stephanie Summers and Jamie Winters, siblings Aibree (Kelton) Larsen, Traeson Garner, Kyzon Garner, Kelton Garner, bonus siblings Jerad McCartney, Jessie McCartney, Molly McCartney, Anastasia (Derek) Dean, Karina (Tyson) Layland, Brittney Summers, Kauri Summers, nieces Oaklyn and Cassia, nephews Liam, Quinn and Greyson, beloved aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, and friends. Trandyn is preceded in death by his grandfather Larry Garner, grandfather in-law Charles Cavanaugh, grandmother in-law Frances Cavanaugh, and mother-in-law Mary Hall.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 11, at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg. The family will visit with friends and family Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. also at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg.
