Obituary

Vada Mason Miller, 87, of Parker, died July 8, 2015, at the Ashton Living Center of natural causes. She was born December 19, 1927, in Parker, Idaho to James Hinckley Mason and Esta Elizabeth Brower Mason. She attended grade school in Parker and graduated from St. Anthony High School. After graduation she attended Ricks College.

She married Val DeLynn Miller on March 16, 1948, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home and raised their four children, Cristeen, Faye, Karla and Terry, in Parker.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings. Among the many callings she held she served as Relief Society President, as a temple worker and was the ward organist for over 40 years.

She loved being outdoors and going on daily walks. She enjoyed gardening and canning the produce she raised. She liked to make quilts and afghans for her family, and spending time with them. She was always serving those in need and leaves a legacy of service to her family.

She is survived by her children, Cristeen (Jay) VanderMeeden of Teton, Faye (Kerry) Powell of Idaho Falls, Karla (Tom) Howell of Ashton, Terry (Toni) Miller of St. Anthony; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Mason of St. Anthony; eleven grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband DeLynn, siblings Glen Mason, Willis Mason, Ava East, Beth Cutler and Sarah Mason.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Ashton Living Center for all the love and care shown to their mother.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14, at the Parker LDS Chapel with Bishop Brent Williams officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., both times at the church. Burial will be in the Parker Cemetery under the direction of Baxter Funeral Home.
