Verna June Josephson Lerwill, 75, of Tetonia, Idaho, died January 15, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born March 2, 1945, in Driggs, Idaho, to Morris Arnold and Junietta Bates Josephson. She was raised in Bates, Idaho, west of Driggs. She attended schools in Driggs and graduated from Teton High School.

She married Garry Lerwill on June 22, 1962, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in Idaho Falls for a time before moving back to the Teton Valley where they farmed and raised their four children.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served diligently in many callings and capacities. For several years she and Garry served in the Idaho Falls temple and she later served in the Rexburg temple.

She was very involved in several farming related agencies, at both the local and state levels. She also worked in the Teton Valley Museum, worked in several professional office positions, i.e. Title Company and Real Estate offices. She was also a proficient grain combine operator.

She was an artist and enjoyed oil painting and sketching. She was a talented seamstress. She loved music and enjoyed playing the piano. She also like to sing and square dance with her husband Garry.

Her passion was her family. She had an amazing ability and ensured that whomever she was with felt they were the most important person in the world.

She is survived by her children, Jeff (Alana) Lerwill of Sugar City, Stacy (Brenda) Lerwill of Tetonia, Lisa (Scott) Wright of Rigby, Ryan (Kalle) Lerwill of Sugar City; siblings, Connie Soderstrom, Arva (Forrest) Shaw, Darwin (Marianne) Josephson, Theron (Ceytru) Josephson; sixteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Garry (her "Rock").

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, at the Tetonia LDS Chapel. Interment will be in the Cache Clawson Cemetery under the direction of Baxter Funeral Home.
