Virginia B. McCormick, 73,of Ashton, passed away April 10, 2017, at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City. She was born in St. Anthony, Idaho on June 26, 1943, to Frank and Berthena Woolsey. She attended school in St. Anthony.
She married her life partner, Harold McCormick, on July 16, 1960, in Jefferson County. They made their home in Ashton were they raised their family of eight children.
In addition to being a homemaker, mother and grandmother, Virginia would drive truck during potato harvest.
Virginia loved to go dancing, spending time with her grandchildren and having barbeques during the summer with family, friends and neighbors.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by her children, Larry (Karen) McCormick of St. Anthony, Leroy (Sara) McCormick of Idaho Falls, Rosemarry Wykle of Ashton, Alan (Caitlan) McCormick of Ashton, Jennifer (Michael) Crislip of Twin Falls, John (Kristen) McCormick of Ashton, Clyde (Kori) McCormick of Chester; a sister Freda (Lorraine) Pierce; two brothers, Jim (Carol) Woolsey and Ruben Woolsey; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, a son Harold Jr., and four sisters, Frankie Frandsen, Nancy Lake, Jane Curtis and Dorothy Walton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 17, at the Ashton LDS Stake Center with Bishop Jim Jorgensen officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Baxter Funeral Home and Monday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the stake center prior to services. Interment will be in the Pineview Cemetery.
