Obituary

Wilma Jeanne Bowman, 89, of Chester, died February 28, 2021, at her home surrounded by loved ones.

She was born February 9, 1932, in Chester, Idaho to Gomer Hugh and Dorothy Howard Williams. She attended schools in St. Anthony and graduated from South Fremont High School.

She married William "Bill" LaDale Bowman on January 16, 1952, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They raised their family in Merced, California. During their married years they lived in Mesa, Arizona and Merced before returning to her hometown of Chester when they retired in 1988. Bill passed away in 2014.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings. She helped Laotian refugees integrate into the United States and loved serving them.

Her greatest joy in life was always serving others and her family.

She is survived by her children, Eric (Carmen) Bowman of Topeka, Kansas, David (Sabrina) Bowman of Caldwell, Idaho, LuAnn Bowman of Vineyard, Utah, Kevin (Lynnette) Bowman of Santaquin, Utah; her siblings, Mildred Berkheimer, Marva Bowman, Deanna Baker, Alice Richards, Gordon (Cheryl) Williams all of Chester, Mark Williams of Wilford; 18 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; son, DeLynn Bowman; sister, Joyce Arnold; two granddaughters, and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 6, at the Ashton LDS Stake Center, 512 North 2nd Street, with Bishop Chuck Hanson of the Chester Ward officiating. The family will receive friends and family Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., and again Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., both times at the stake center. Interment will be in the Chester Cemetery under the direction of Baxter Funeral Home.
