Zada Uneva Wilcox, 77, of Ashton, died September 9, 2016, at her home of natural causes. She was born March 20, 1939, to Rudolph Jensen and Frances Mills in Lawrence, Utah. She was the tenth child born to Rudolph and Frances. There were four others born after her.
The first few years of her life were spent between Lawrence, Woods Cross and Gunnison, Utah. In 1955, her family moved to Heyburn, Idaho. In 1957, Zada graduated from Minidoka High School in Rupert, Idaho.
Zada spent her early years caring for her younger siblings. Her special love for her family continued throughout her life.
She married the love of her life, Bud Wilcox, on December 4, 1962. She and Bud never had children of their own, but she became a second mom to her nieces and nephews and many of her neighborhood children. Bud died on July 27, 1983.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by her siblings, Floyd Jensen, Ivan Jensen, Earl Jensen, Rae Jensen and Dolly Bardsley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and siblings, Ina, Inas, Vada, Ronald, Henry, Lamont, Bessie and Uzona.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, at the Ashton LDS Stake Center with Bishop Jim Jorgensen officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday for one hour prior to services at the stake center. Interment will be in the Pineview Cemetery under the direction of Baxter Funeral Home.
