Zee J Egbert passed away peacefully at home from natural causes on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 with his wife, Peggy, at his side. He was 85 years old.
Zee J was born March 14, 1931 in Chester, Idaho to Zera Newton Egbert and Sarah Louise Howard. He was the oldest of six children. He grew up in Marysville, Idaho and graduated from North Fremont High School. He served a 2 year mission for the LDS Church to the North Central Sates.
When he returned home, he went to BYU and Ricks College where he met the love of his life, Peggy Eileen Call. They were married Dec. 16, 1953 in the Idaho Falls Temple. After their marriage he served in the US Army from 1954 to 1955.
Zee J and Peggy lived and dedicated their life to their family and working on the farm. They also dedicated their time in service in various church callings. He served twice as Bishop of Ashton 1st ward. Peggy and Zee J served a full time mission together in Little Rock, Arkansas between 2001 and 2003. They also served as Temple Officiators in Idaho Falls and Rexburg.
They had a family of 7 children, 3 daughters, Rhonda, Holly and LaRee and 4 sons,Richael, David, Kevin and Alan. They have 34 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; a wonderful posterity of 62 years of marriage.
He is survived by his brothers Brent (Linda) Egbert, Dennis (Marie) Egbert, sisters, Zeralene (Mel) Call and Trenna (Arnold) Hillam and children, Rhonda (Russ) Pueblo, Richael (Jackie) Egbert, David (Lori) Egbert, Alan (Marla) Egbert, Holly (Mearle) Marsh, LaRee (Byron) Cloward and daughter-in-law, Dawn (John) Toenjes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Zera Newton and Sarah Louise Egbert, his sister, LaRee Egbert, son; Kevin and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 5th at the LDS Tri-Ward building in Ashton, Idaho. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Tri Ward building and again from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
